Jump Rope for Heart Fun Day
Each year at my school we partner with the American Heart Association for four weeks and raise money for heart research through Jump Rope for Heart. For these weeks many of my students go out into the community collecting donations and are rewarded with various prizes supplied by the American Heart Association for how much they raise. As an added incentive I have a JRFH Fun Day at the end of the four weeks where all of the students K-4 come together and do jump rope activities in the High School gym. Though this event is done to celebrate how much money was raised, all of the students are invited regardless of whether or not they were able to collect any donations. At this event the students rotate through several stations where they can practice speed roping, solo rope tricks, long rope jumping, and many long rope games. This is always a highlight of the year for many students and it is an absolute blast for me to facilitate and enjoy with the students. Below are some pictures and a video of last years event.
